AHA PALS – Refresher

PALS – AHA’sPediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) course is a one or two-day classroom, video-based, Instructor-led course that uses a series of simulated pediatric emergencies to reinforce the essential concepts of a systematic approach to pediatric assessment, basic life support, PALS treatment algorithms, effective resuscitation and team dynamics. The goal of the PALS Course is to improve the quality of care provided to seriously ill or injured children, resulting in improved outcomes. The PALS Course is for healthcare providers who respond to emergencies in infants and children. These include personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units. This two-year certification is recommended for nurses, physicians, paramedics, and other healthcare professionals requiring PALS certification for a job or other requirements.
NOTE: A score of 84% or better on the pretest is required and must be submitted at the beginning of the course. The pretest can be found at www.heart.org/eccstudent; the password is palsprovider. Make sure to take the pretest on a computer that can print the results, as results cannot be saved to print at a later time.
